Who is Who - Katka

Meet Katka from our Customer Service Team
About your career and interests?
After my university studies (Political Science & Mediterranean Studies) I moved to Basel to work as an au-pair for a year. After this I worked for a German airline and then joined Swiss Exams in June 2020.
I love music and art in general very much. In my free time you can find me playing piano, going to theatres (when the situation allows it) or reading books. This year I also started taking ballroom dance lessons and currently I am preparing for my first competition.
Remote exams under secure conditions

The COVID-19 pandemic has not only changed the way we teach in the online sphere but has also impacted the methods of testing and assessing.
Supporting every teacher – all year around

The closing of the schools in Switzerland and around the world has changed teaching. A lot of face-to-face teaching had to be changed to remote online teaching.
To help teachers transition to this new form of teaching, which was unfamiliar to most, we introduced a series of webinars focusing on different aspects of online teaching. In addition to these webinars, we have introduced a new resource website with exclusive online teaching material that any teacher can access for free.

Computer-delivered IELTS 2020 – 2021

Swiss Exams has successfully launched computer-delivered IELTS in Winterthur/Zürich and in Lausanne with more locations to be added in 2021.
At the beginning of 2020, Swiss Exams and the British Council signed a strategic IELTS agreement for Switzerland. In the summer, the first IELTS pilot sessions took place and Winterthur/Zurich and Lausanne went operational during the course of the autumn. This gave Swiss Exams the time needed to establish processes and operations and gain the necessary experience to accelerate in 2021.
