All candidates are required to show a valid identity document on all exam days. Important: The identity document must be the same document that you used for your registration. Only valid, unexpired, original documentation is accepted. Candidates who do not provide a document, provide a document that is invalid (e.g. punched) or a document which is different from the document used at their registration, will not be allowed to take the exam.

You should check your ID immediately after registering for an exam. Candidates are only allowed to sit the exam if they can show a valid ID at their written and speaking exams.
Candidates without valid ID who have their first exam in less than 10 days should approach the cantonal passport office and request a temporary passport (Provisorischer Pass/Notpass, CHF 100/150).
