In Switzerland, the Cambridge exams are regarded as an "unofficial" yet significant benchmark for English language skills and competencies, as well as preparation for the next educational stage.
Why "unofficial"?
Even though participation in Cambridge exams is generally voluntary in most cantons and schools within the Swiss education system, they have practically become an indispensable component of a career in nearly all sectors and most professions. How to obtain an internationally recognized language certificate in all professions and vocational schools

Unfortunately, not all professions and vocational schools offer their apprentices the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognized language certificate. Nevertheless, apprentices in these professions still have opportunities available to them.
For apprentices in professions such as Computer Scientist EFZ, Medical Assistant (MPA) EFZ, Draughtsperson EFZ, Caregiver EFZ, Logistician EFZ, Healthcare Specialist EFZ, Media Technician EFZ, Pharmacy Specialist EFZ (pharmaceutical assistant), Graphic Designer EFZ, Advertising Technician EFZ and others can now take the new Cambridge Linguaskill exam in addition to the traditional Cambridge exams such as Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency.
With Linguaskill, it is possible to obtain a certificate in a short period of time, as it is a multilevel test that leads to an internationally recognized Cambridge certificate.
What opportunities does a Cambridge certificate offer?
In school
A Cambridge certificate not only shows that apprentices have actively worked towards acquiring these competences during their education, but also that they have shown proven ability. A CV with a Cambridge certificate is perceived positively. Preparing for a Cambridge exam ensures that young people acquire their language skills in a structured, comprehensive, and progressive way. Some vocational schools offer preparation courses for Cambridge exams as part of their training programme. We recommend that you inquire at the respective institution about the courses on offer.
Preparation via Swiss Exams Academy
If the vocational school does not offer preparation courses for Cambridge exams, apprentices have the opportunity to take these courses with Swiss Exams Academy.
Self-study
