How to register for a Cambridge English exam

1. Select Exam

• First select the Cambridge English exam you want to take and filter according to that.
• To find out what level you have, you can take a Cambridge English Placement Test.
• If you already know which exam you want or need to take, go to the official Cambridge English registration page and select the exam you want to take.
• Choose whether you would like to take your exam on the computer or on paper. Here are a couple of benefits for computer- based exams.

2. Select Test Location

• On the official Cambridge English exam registration website by Swiss Exams, select the location where you would like to take your Cambridge English exam.
• Swiss Exams conducts the official Cambridge English exams at various locations throughout Switzerland.
• Where will you find the Cambridge venues? These are the main locations: Winterthur, Zurich, Berne, Basel, Lucerne, Aargau, Lausanne, St.Gallen, Chur and Geneva.

3. Select Date

• If you have chosen the location of your exam, you can now select an exam date. Swiss Exams offers various dates in different regions of Switzerland.

4. Select Exam Package

• At Swiss Exams you can choose how you want to take the exam: on computer or on paper.
• Swiss Exams also offers you the opportunity to add the Exam Retake Option to your booking. There are candidates who fail to complete their exam due to being ill, an accident or a public transportation failure etc. Also, there might be candidates who fail by only 3 points or less, because they may have had a bad day for various reasons. If you choose this option for a fee of CHF 26.00 and one of these incidents occurs, you can retake your exam for free within the next 12 months after your exam date. This prevents you from having to pay the exam fee twice.

5. Confirmation email from our Customer Service

• Once you have completed the registration process, you will receive a confirmation email from us. When you register for your Cambridge English exam, we automatically create your profile Swiss Exams Access – Candidate Access. Here you can see all your exam information, location, time etc.
• Approximately 10 working days before the exam you will also receive your official invitation by e-mail.
• 48 hours before the Cambridge exam, each candidate receives a reminder email with the invitation to the exam.
